Drinking horns decorated

Drinking horns decorated
Drinking horns were probably used 25,000 years ago, as the Venus de Laussel confirms a representation carved in limestone.

Drinking horns were often elaborately decorated and provided with valuable materials. They were considered representative drinking vessels for special occasions, such as an official welcome drink, or for cultic religious acts. Drinking horns were also very popular with the Vikings.

The old Teutons and Vikings would go green with envy if they saw what a wide range of drinking horns and accessories their successors could choose from.
